“BECAUSE HE SAW THAT GOD STILL LOVES THE WORLD...”
Blessed Mother Teresa once shared how an image of her sisters on television saved a man in despair: “One great Brazilian man, a man of high position, wrote to me that he had lost faith in God and man. He gave up his position and everything and only wanted to commit suicide. One day as he was passing by a shop, his eyes suddenly fell on a TV in the window. There was the scene of Nirmal Hriday, the Sisters looking after the sick and dying. He wrote to me that after seeing that scene, he knelt and prayed for the first time in many years. Now he has decided to turn back to God and have faith in humanity because he saw that God still loves the world.” *
It seems many people are having the same experience. Two years before he died, Pope John Paul II lamented the “loss of Christian memory today,” and a “‘silent apostacy’ on the part of people who have all that they need and who live as if God does not exist.” He told us the greatest need in the world today “is a growing need of hope, a hope which will enable us to give meaning to life and history, and to continue on our way together,” (7/13/03). And he’s said over and over again it is Mary who brings back faith. Imagine if the prayer and testimonies of conversion taking place daily in Medjugorje were able to come live through television into livingrooms throughout the world!
Our intention, when operational, is to begin streaming on the internet, and eventually (God willing) uplinking by satellite the daily events of Medjugorje! (Details will be announced in the future. At present we can’t say how or where programming will be aired).
A SECRET JOHN PAUL KNEW
During Advent we heard at Mass Matthew 1, the geneology of Jesus. His family tree is as disfunctional as any of our own! One ancestor was a prostitute, another committed murder. A brother in another family of his liniage had been sold into slavery - they stopped short of killing him...the list goes on! It was Our Lady that blocked these generational wounds from getting to Jesus - through her Immaculate Conception!
And now she is telling the world from Medjugorje that she wants to carry each one of us in her womb as she carried her Son, Jesus!
The grace is available right now to deliver the whole world from its wounds - over night - as happened to 20 year old Donald Calloway - if the world’s attention could be caught - even for a moment - by the beauty of the face of Mary. Though Satan wants to give the appearance that this is his time - we seem to be seeing “his shameful face” everywhere - in reality he’s terrified! Our Lady has told us, “This time is my time!” It is the time for the triumph of her heart! “We must practically recognize Mary’s mission as Queen and Mother, then let her act fully; freely!”
A MARY TV UPDATE
In January, 1999 Cardinal Jaime Sin advised Denis Nolan, the president of MARY TV, that this satellite television project had to remain a lay initiative. In peace we are happy leaving everything in the hands of Our Lady, the foremost lay person in the Church! MARY TV’s Director of Engineering is one of the foremost experts on television in the Catholic Church today. For many years, for example, he was helping to build television and radio stations throughout the former East Block countries after the fall of the Berlin Wall - at the request of the American Bishops. (It is worth mentioning that he is also the president of a Catholic media plan begun by members of the hierarchy in response to direction given them by Pope John Paul Il.)
A LITTLE SIGN OF PROVIDENCE AT WORK
The contractor building our facility does all the building for St. James parish in Medjugorje. When MARY TV’s Director of Engineering was inspecting our building last Fall, the contractor showed him a connection box he had placed by the parish bathrooms several years ago after completing extensive improvements on the grounds surrounding the church. In the box, adjacent to our facility, the contractor had providentially left extra conduit lines vacant in case in the future their might ever arise a need to run cables to the church! Those conduits are already in place – situated perfectly next to our building - waiting to be used!
CONSIDER PUTTING MARY TV IN YOUR WILL
In addiiton to sending your donation, after providing for your families and loved ones you may want to put MARY TV in your will, thus helping to ensure its long term future. Bequests are free of estate tax, and can substantially reduce the amount of your assets claimed by the government.
You can support this important work by simply incuding the following words in your will: “I give, devise, and bequeath to MARY TV, PO Box 899, Notre Dame, Indiana 46556 (insert amount being given here) to be used to support the ministry of MARY TV.”
A bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a specific piece of property, a percengtage of an estate, or all or part of the residue of an estate. You can also name MARY TV as a contingency beneficiary in the event someone named in your will is no longer living. (It is recommended that a lawyer help in drafting or amending a will.)
Our Lady has said in Medjugorje, “My eyes and my heart will be here even when I will no longer appear.” Too, the permanent sign on Mt. Podbrdo will remain as long as the world continues.
